Cassidy Flynn, MA

My philosophy when it comes to therapy is that a good relationship yields positive results. When we begin counseling, no matter what goals you hope to accomplish, step one is to build a foundation of trust and compassion.

I will provide a space where being vulnerable and confronting your struggles is a strength, not something to be ashamed or afraid of. My therapy style provides direct yet gentle communication while we work together toward your goals and a better life.

I work with a range of issues, specializing in adults who have experienced trauma, either recently or in childhood, those who struggle with managing ADHD, or those who feel generally overwhelmed with life.

We might be a good fit for therapy if you:

  • Are new to counseling

  • Have tried talk therapy but need a different approach, such as EMDR or art therapy

  • Value honest and supportive feedback

  • Want a personal and goal-oriented approach

  • Are ready to put in the work for real change

If we sound like a good fit, or if you have questions, reach out for a free 15-minute phone or video consultation.

Specialties

  • I utilize art therapy with adults who need to express their emotions but can’t find the words. Art therapy is also used to reduce anxiety and stress by calming the nervous system while speaking about difficult topics. If you choose to engage in art therapy, we will use a variety of mediums, such as drawing, painting, collage, 3D art, found object art, and more.

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, or EMDR, is a structured psychotherapy technique to help people process traumatic events, memories, or particularly difficult emotions. It is one of the most studied and effective PTSD treatments.

  • Talk therapy is the “traditional” type of psychotherapy most people picture when they think about getting mental health support. I use person-centered approaches to talk therapy, borrowing from DBT, CBT, and mindfulness-based therapy.

  • ADHD coaching is a structured process to help support people who feel held back by their ADHD. I will work with you to develop strategies to address time management, organization, focus, accountability, and dopamine-seeking. As a therapist with ADHD myself, I take an empowering approach that emphasizes the strengths that can come with ADHD and work to use them to your advantage.
